The university rankings are subdivided into seven tracks, with two universities in Shanghai as the vanguard, the top five in the main list are old faces, and private universities also play the list.
How to evaluate universities in China with China standard? On the morning of April 18th, the 10th edition of China University Rankings was disclosed online by the Soft Science Department, a professional evaluation institution of higher education. The top five universities kept their "old faces", while each of the seven single-discipline "tracks" subdivided by the rankings had its own vanguard. Among them, Peking Union Medical College ranks first in medical universities, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics ranks first in financial universities, Beijing Foreign Studies University ranks first in language universities, China University of Political Science and Law ranks first in political science and law universities, Minzu University of China ranks first in ethnic universities, Shanghai Sport University leads sports universities, and Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) ranks first in China cooperative universities. It can be said that universities in Beijing and Shanghai performed best except those with Chinese prefix.
The reporter from Jiefang Daily Shangguan learned that the 2024 ranking of China University in Soft Science is targeted at more than 1,000 universities at the undergraduate level. The evaluation system has set up ten evaluation modules, subdivided 36 evaluation dimensions, and embedded 100 evaluation indicators, involving 373 evaluation variables, with 28 variables increasing year-on-year, forming a three-dimensional monitoring evaluation of the running level of China University. In order to properly reflect the differences in the nature and types of colleges and universities, and better ensure the fairness of ranking, colleges and universities are divided into comprehensive universities, 7 single-subject universities and 4 non-state-owned university universities, and are ranked respectively by using differentiated index systems. On the whole, attaching importance to personnel training and serving the country are the two most important characteristics of its ranking index system.
